New Trusted Research eLearning course in collaboration with NPSA and NCSC

New Trusted Research eLearning course in collaboration with NPSA and NCSC

We are pleased to announce the HEECA Trusted Research eLearning project in collaboration with the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is now live, as we kick-off the design and development of this vital resource for the sector.

Building on existing NPSA & NCSC materials, this course will provide practical guidance on safeguarding research in international collaborations, including identifying and mitigating risks such as foreign interference, implementing due diligence processes, protecting intellectual property, and considering national security implications.

The new resource follows success of the HEECA ‘Strategic Export Controls in Higher Education’ eLearning course (see our Year 1 Summary Report of this course) and will be designed to equip users with essential knowledge and tools to strengthen research security and international partnerships.

Keep a look-out on this page for updates on the progress of this initiative.

Scoping Phase - Community Engagement and Consultation

To commence the e-Learning design we will be undertaking a scoping phase through a series of engagement workshops and consultation sessions.

These sessions will offer a platform for the community to share insights and help shape the course and any complementary materials to ensure the course architecture and content addresses the evolving needs of the sector. Given the rapidly shifting geopolitical landscape, it is more important than ever to stay informed and take a proactive approach to this agenda.

Community Consultation Workshop 1

Wednesday 26 March 2025
11:00 - 12:30 GMT
Online (via Microsoft Teams)

These sessions will provide a space for the community to share insights, inform development of the course architecture and shape its content, to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the sector.

To maximise attendance, multiple workshop dates and times are available however, as each session will cover the same content, we kindly ask individuals to register for only one workshop.

If demand is high and sessions fill up quickly, we will explore offering additional workshops. Any updates on extra sessions will be shared in due course.

Once you submit the registration form, we will review your details and confirm your place as soon as possible.
